Adult & Teen Challenge began in New York in 1958. Within a decade, Adult & Teen Challenge began its speedy march toward becoming the largest network of substance recovery centers in the world. Today, it offers over 1,200 centers in 110 countries.

The reason that Adult & Teen Challenge centers have seen this kind of growth is simple: the program works! More men and women stay sober after coming through these long-term residential programs than pretty much any other rehab program. They remain abstinent long after completing the program, and most do so without having to attend AA and NA meetings for the remainder of their life. If your loved one is battling drug addiction or is an alcoholic, recovery is available through this effective program. 60 years of successful recovery for thousands of individuals speaks for itself.

rehab for womenYour loved one will spend much of her time learning a dramatically different way to live free from the substances that were once the the time they get up in the morning to the end of each day, she will learn to replace her self-centered thinking with a new, positive plan of action. Rather than selfish inward thinking, she learn the value of serving others and genuinely start to place others’ needs before their own. Your loved one will change the way they think, the way she behaves, and ultimately, become a completely changed woman. You’ll see the person you once knew come to the surface again, full of joy and thankfulness for having a new lease on life.

The Adult & Teen Challenge rehab centers work on the premise that addicts and alcoholics attempt to fill a spiritual void in their life through substance abuse. These substances can only cover up hurts or to bring about a false “high”, but they eventually turn on the addict. The addiction quickly consumes their life, their finances, and their relationships. But they can’t seem to find their own way out of the black hole they find themselves in. There seems to be no way out on their own.

rehabRecovering women become a part of the world they once hid from. They are given responsibilities and jobs, which help to build up their self-esteem. They learn a positive attitude and learn to be thankful for even the smallest kindness. Their sobriety is supported by both the staff and their peers who have been in the program longer than them. Recovery and future abstinence from addicting substances and the effects that such substances may have on the individual or their life, actions, or their future are entirely dependent on the individual and how well they apply the principles we have taught them. We are an educational institution, and how the individual in our program learns from what they are taught and modeled here, is totally up to them. Individuals who stay the full term (until graduation) have much better long-term recovery from addicitons than those who do not.
