Your loved one will spend much of her time learning a dramatically different way to live free from the substances that were once the the time they get up in the morning to the end of each day, she will learn to replace her self-centered thinking with a new, positive plan of action. Rather than selfish inward thinking, she learn the value of serving others and genuinely start to place others’ needs before their own. Your loved one will change the way they think, the way she behaves, and ultimately, become a completely changed woman. You’ll see the person you once knew come to the surface again, full of joy and thankfulness for having a new lease on life.
The Adult & Teen Challenge rehab centers work on the premise that addicts and alcoholics attempt to fill a spiritual void in their life through substance abuse. These substances can only cover up hurts or to bring about a false “high”, but they eventually turn on the addict. The addiction quickly consumes their life, their finances, and their relationships. But they can’t seem to find their own way out of the black hole they find themselves in. There seems to be no way out on their own.
